Betting Odds for No. 8 Oregon vs. No. 23 Liberty in Fiesta Bowl

The Ducks wrap up the 2023 season with a bowl game in the desert.
In this story:

The No. 8 Oregon Ducks will face the No. 23 Liberty Flames in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day.

Quarterback Bo Nix will play in his final college game with the Ducks and cap off a historic season after being named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. True freshman Austin Novosad is also expected to see some snaps with the offense after signing with the Ducks as a four-star recruit in the 2023 class.

The offense is expected to see some younger players like Jurrion Dickey and Iapani Laloulu to take on new or larger roles with star receiver Troy Franklin and Rimington Trophy winner Jackson Powers-Johnson opting out of the Fiesta Bowl.

Tosh Lupoi and Dan Lanning's defense could be welcoming two starters back, as starting cornerback Jahlil Florence and defensive end Jordan Burch are both considered game-time decisions. Oregon's defense took a major leap forward in 2023 and was one of the best units in the Pac-12, consistently getting after the quarterback and ranking inside the top nationally in scoring defense.

The undefeated Liberty Flames enter the Fiesta Bowl after a stellar debut season in Conference USA. Led by head coach Jamey Chadwell and quarterback Kaidon Salter, the Flames won Conference USA and averaged 40.8 points per game.

The Fiesta Bowl will mark the first ever meeting between Oregon and Liberty.
