Brenden Schooler Takes it Upon Himself to Keep the Young Receivers in Check, On and Off the Field
The first five weeks of the season were pretty rough on senior wide receiver Brenden Schooler. While being forced to sit on the sidelines and watch his teammates go into battle, Schooler waited patiently, knowing that his time to return from injury would soon come.
Once he finally returned to the field, it was a feeling he'd been anticipating greatly. Though his performance on Saturday against the California Golden Bears wasn't anything spectacular — one catch for 19 yards — his presence was more uplifting than anything he could have done on the field. That's a role that Schooler plays well. He knows how to be a mentor for the younger players, and he is good at making sure that the team is staying mentally strong, and even keel throughout a contest.
Now, looking forward to this weekend's game against Colorado, Schooler knows the feeling of revenge that is rumbling deep within the locker room, as one of the few players who were around for 2016's crushing loss at home. As the weeks go by and he gets closer to 100%, expect the production, to go up for Schooler, while he remains one of the vocal leaders of this team.
