Denver Broncos' Bo Nix Injury Report Ahead Of Cleveland Monday Night Football Game

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix was a limited participant in the Broncos' Thursday practice with a back injury. Last Sunday, the former Oregon Duck was seen applying a heating pad to his back. The latest on Nix's injury ahead before Cleveland Browns matchup on Monday Night Football.

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix was a limited participant in the Broncos' Thursday practice with a back injury. Last Sunday, the former Oregon Duck was seen applying a heating pad to his lower back during the fourth quarter of Denver's 29-19 win against AFC West Division rival Las Vegas Raiders.

It appeared that Nix suffered the injury on his second touchdown pass of the game to Courtland Sutton.

Nix did not miss a snap in the game and has played in all 12 games so far this season.

Nix and the Broncos have an extra day to prepare this week, as Denver plays the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football. Nix's status for Friday's practice is one to monitor.

Good news is, after the game vs. the Browns, Denver gets a bye week which could be great timing for the dinged-up Nix.

The rookie sensation has completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 2,548 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also has 300 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns and zero lost fumbles.

Nix won the NFL's Rookie of the Week award for his performance in Denver's win over the Raiders, becoming the first Bronco to ever win the award in three consecutive weeks (Week 10 vs. the Chiefs and Week 11 vs. the Falcons.)

The Broncos (7-5) are in the postseason hunt and every week is important. Denver controls it's own destiny, currently with two less losses than eighth-place Miami Dolphins (5-7) and Indianapolis Colts (5-7.)

Nix's brother, Oregon Ducks receiver Tez Johnson, is not surprised that Nix has adjusted to the NFL quickly.

"He's loving Denver. It's the same thing (as when he first arrived)," Johnson told Oregon Ducks reporter Bri Amaranthus. "When I call him and ask him how he's doing, he's enjoying it... He's the same guy, just wanting to get better. He's playing with a former receiver teammate, Troy Franklin. It's things like that you can't ask for anything better."

"He competes at a high level," Johnson continued. "Everything he does is at a high level. He's competing. He wants to be first in everything. He doesn't settle for anything. If he put his mind to something, he's going to do it, no matter what. It's unbelievable."
