Former Oregon Linebacker Keith Brown Commits to Louisville

Brown was one of three Oregon players hit the transfer portal earlier this month.

Keith Brown was perhaps the most surprising Oregon Duck to enter the transfer portal, announcing that he would be leaving Eugene on April 15.

On Tuesday night, the rising junior linebacker announced his commitment to the Louisville Cardinals.

"New tread same me," Brown wrote in a social media post.

The former Duck linebacker attracted interest from a number of schools while in the transfer portal before landing on Louisville, landing offers from West Virginia, Duke, Cincinnati and UTSA among others.

Brown was slated to take on a bigger role in Oregon's defense in 2023, especially after the departure of Noah Sewell

His departure came as a big surprise to the Oregon fan base, especially after he spoke about how he could've entered the transfer portal earlier in spring ball, but that he didn't because he wanted to stay in his home state.

"I could have easily been like a portal guy, stuff like that. But I'm a Duck," Brown said on April 13. "I've been here for three years now. I'm from Oregon. So it kind of means more to me. I want to play for this team. I want to be a Duck, stuff like that. So I wasn't worried about how long it was gonna take. I just knew at some point I'd earn my spot."

The 6-foot-1 Lebanon native signed with Oregon as a four-star (0.9479 per 247Sports Composite) recruit in the 2021 class. He was an Adidas All-American that landed 13 reported scholarship offers during his high school career.

During his two years at Oregon he played in 19 games, recording 36 total tackles, 18 solo tackles and one sack.

He has two years of eligibility remaining.
