The second year of the Dan Lanning era is ready to kick off in Eugene.

The college football season is finally here.

Dan Lanning and the No. 15 Oregon Ducks will begin their 2023 campaign on Saturday against the Portland State Vikings in a non-conference matchup.

Oregon quarterback and Heisman hopeful Bo Nix returns for his second season in Eugene and his first under new offensive coordinator Will Stein

The defense looks to take a leap from year one to year two under Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi after largely underdelivering in 2022. To do that they'll deploy one of the best transfer portal hauls in college football, headlined by 6-foot-6, 290-pound South Carolina defensive end transfer Jordan Burch.

Oregon is an overwhelming favorite heading into the weekend against the Vikings, but fans should still be excited to get their first look at the Ducks since they closed out the 2022 season with a 28-27 win over the North Carolina Tarheels in the Holiday Bowl.
