Oregon is set to host its annual Saturday Night Live camp this weekend. A lot of 2024 commits will be in attendance, but one of the biggest names in 2025 that is expected on campus is Elba (Ala.) running back Alvin Henderson.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound ballcarrier is a three-sport athlete that also plays basketball and baseball.

This weekend will be his first trip to Oregon and he has a few things he's looking forward to.

"The only thing I'm looking for once I get up there, him (Carlos Locklyn) showing me around, me being able to connect with the coaching staff, learn more about Oregon--not just what I see over the phone and everything," Henderson said. "I want to learn more about the culture, the fans, how it is on game day."

Oregon's history of winning is part of what has Henderson's attention and he's excited to learn more about how the Ducks got to where they're at.

"I'm really ready to learn more about who played at Oregon before I knew about Oregon years ago. I want to know who really set the standard there in Oregon and what made them become a winning tradition?"

Running backs coach Carlos Locklyn is Oregon's strongest connection to Henderson, who has a relationship dating back to Locklyn's previous coaching stop at Western Kentucky.

"He was my fifth offer and he offered at Western Kentucky. Ever since he's been at Oregon he always stayed in contact," he said. "It really surprised me when he came to my spring game because he didn't even let me know. He came to my game and I was like 'Dang, Coach Lock really is here.' When he came to my game I was surprised because Oregon's 32 hours away. Ever since then, me and Coach Lock, we're just locked in. Our relationship's been tight ever since."

Henderson has more than 40 offers to his name ahead of his junior year at Elba and he's been thinking about other schools he'd like to see as he gets back on the road.

"Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, back to Oregon, USC, Arkansas, possibly Texas," he said.

The Alabama product doesn't appear to be close to a decision but provided the latest on his timeline.

"I don't know right now I'm still thinking. I may drop a top schools soon and then commit some time in January, February. But as of right now I haven't really made my decision yet I'm still thinking."

What's he looking for in a school?

"Really the only thing that I'm looking for-- what will play a huge part in me committing to a school is whichever school builds a strong relationship with me and my mom. Whichever school once I get there, I'll be not just good on the field but academically well-rounded and of course a situation where I'll be able to get there, be able to succeed in the type of offensive scheme they run."

Other running backs to watch for Oregon in the 2025 class include Jordon Davison (CA) and Deondrae Ridden (TX).
