Brandon Baker Announces College Commitment

The No. 1 offensive tackle in 2024 is off the board.
In this story:

2024 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Brandon Baker has committed to the Texas Longhorns.

He announced his commitment on the 247Sports YouTube channel on Sunday.

Baker chose Texas from a final five of Texas, Ohio State, Oregon and Florida State.

Listed at 6’5”, 285 pounds, Baker is rated a five-star recruit (0.9878) according to the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 25 player nationally, the No. 1 offensive tackle and the No. 2 recruit in California.

Baker took official visits to Texas, Georgia, Ohio State and Nebraska, but did not take an official visit to Oregon.

I changed my prediction from Oregon to Texas earlier this month.

Other offensive names to monitor along the offensive line for Oregon include a pair of Florida standouts in Eddy Pierre-Louis and Jordan Seaton.

It’s not all bad news for the Ducks, as they landed a verbal commitment from 2026 5-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland on Saturday following their 42-6 win over the Colorado Buffaloes.
