Dillon Gresham Breaks Down Oregon Visit

In this story:
Dan Lanning and the Ducks continue bringing recruits to Eugene to showcase their team, Autzen Stadium and campus life as an Oregon student athlete.
One recruit that was in town for the Washington State game was San Jacinto (Calif.) wide receiver and Oregon commit Dillon Gresham. He took some time to discuss his trip and the latest in his recruitment with Ducks Digest.
For the 6-foot, 175-pound wideout, this weekends trip came together for a few reasons.
"Honestly I wanted to get back out to Eugene to get a chance to see my first home game at Oregon," he said. "Had a really good time. Good experience. Just having a chance to see picture myself out there on the field, in the stadium, just get the vibes."
Some of the highlights from his time in the Pacific Northwest included getting to spend time with one of Oregon's promising young pass catchers.
"Just a few. (I) Got a chance to spend a whole bunch of time with players like Jurrion Dickey, spent a lot of time with staff as well. Going to meetings, just took a day of Game Day and before Game Day highlights. Just really getting a full college schedule honestly."
Oregon's offense is averaging 47 points per game and had another strong day against the Cougars.
"It was honestly really explosive and I think what was so good about it was it was complementary football," Gresham said of the Oregon offense. "The run game opened up the pass game. The pass game making the other team really have to stack the box for Bucky Irving, helping Tez and Troy out there. And they're able to just spread the ball to every position. That was really cool."
Gresham committed to Dan Lanning and the Ducks in May, but he continues to hear from a few Pac-12 schools.
"Honestly I'm shutting it down (his recruitment), but only one major school is still reaching out I would say Arizona. Arizona and SC."
How does he manage those conversations as a Duck commit?
"I make it clear I'm still locked in with Oregon," he said. "It's not really recruiting, it's just them reaching out and seeing how I'm doing."
During his recruitment he's been able to build strong relationships with multiple commits in Oregon's 2024 class.
"Commits like Aaron Flowers, Dakoda Fields, Luke Moga and Jordan Anderson. Honestly I can keep going down the list. I think almost every commit if not every commit in the class, we have a group chat. We're all checking in on each other. We're all hearing each other out. Just seeing how each other are doing we already have that bond and environment already."
With the early signing period coming up in December, he's hoping
"Of course I gotta go with Elijah Rushing."
Even though he was just in Eugene, Gresham hopes to make it back this season for another one of Oregon's big games.
"I want to try to make the SC game if possible. But if not I'll be okay with it. I'll be up there to make a bowl game."
With his San Jacinto Tigers vying for a playoff spot, he gave the latest on when he plans to enroll at Oregon.
"I am planning to enroll at Oregon early. Looking into January-ish, late December."
Gresham had one of the productive junior seasons of any player in the country last year and racked up more than 2,000 receiving yards. So is there a player he models his game after?
"If it was a college player like De'Anthony Thomas, Tavon Austin that I grew up watching, you got players like that. In the NFL currently right now I think Jaylen Waddle or Scary Terry (Terry McLaurin) would be the closest that I describe myself as."
He wrapped up the interview by describing the type of player and young man the Ducks are getting when he joins the team.
"I'm one of those quiet grinders. I'm just a hustler for real," he said. "I'm somebody you'll have to watch and somebody you can't look down on."
