Elite 2024 Linebacker Dylan Williams Places Oregon in Top Schools

Dylan Williams has been very high on Oregon since de-committing from USC in the fall.
In this story:

2024 Long Beach (Calif.) Poly linebacker Dylan Williams has placed the Oregon Ducks in his top seven schools. He announced his updated group of finalists over social media on Sunday.

The other schools to make the cut for the standout linebacker include Alabama, Penn State, UCLA, Miami, Michigan and Texas.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound backer has taken a number of trips in the new year including Oregon, Miami and Washington. He saw his scholarship list explode with offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Michigan flooding in.

Williams is rated a four-star (0.9437) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 122 recruit nationally, the No. 10 linebacker and the No. 17 player in California. He doesn't have a commitment date but told Ducks Digest in January that he's probably going to commit at the end of his senior season.

The Ducks have been and will continue to be major players in his recruitment thanks to relationships he's built with defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi and Dan Lanning.

"Oregon's a top school for me for sure," Williams said after a January trip to Eugene. "I know it checks off a lot of the boxes that I'm looking for and I'll get developed very well there and just become a better player there."

Torres' Take

I've said for a while that I've thought Oregon has been in the driver's seat and I think that's still the case. The staff has done an awesome job of getting him up to campus and building some strong relationships.

The connections to Williams run deep as the Ducks signed his teammate Daylen Austin in the 2023 class.

Williams has locked in official visits to Michigan, Texas and Miami. I have no doubt the Ducks will receive an official visit, it's just a matter or locking in the date. The school that I've heard could be the biggest threat to Oregon is Texas.

It appears there's still a long way to go in this recruitment but I don't think the Ducks' chances have diminished at all and I'd expect him back on campus in Eugene this spring.
