Recruiting is heating up as we head into the summer, with top players locking in official visits and in some cases, committing.

One player that's been on Oregon's radar for a long time is 2024 Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan wide receiver Ryan Pellum

The 5-foot-10, 173-pound wideout has taken a pair of recent trips this spring to USC and Oregon. He spoke about his latest visit to Eugene.

"It's the same every time," Pellum said. "They show me that they're family, it's family oriented up there and they show what they do with their players. I love it up there."

Oregon wide receivers coach Junior Adams was in Long Beach at Wednesday's showcase to see Pellum and the two have developed a tight relationship.

"It's really close. He gives me pointers here and there. We chop it up when we get up at campus, go over routes, go over plays."

The Ducks find themselves going against schools like LSU, Texas, Alabama and Michigan. With so many big-time programs in pursuit, Pellum offered a bit more detail about how much of a shot Oregon has.

"They're top 10 and they contact heavy, recruitment's heavy with them and they'll go farther in my recruitment for sure."

Lincoln Riley and the Trojans have made sure to stay involved, making it a priority to keep top offensive talent home.

"It's the same thing, family oriented and they're showing me what they do with their players after college," he about the appeal of USC. "They go to the NFL. They got the NIL deals, so it's pretty good up there too."

The Southern California playmaker has a pair of official trips locked in for next month.

"I got two planned right now for Oregon and SC in June. SC for June 15 and Oregon for June 23."

Pellum doesn't know how many official visits he'll take, but he's still getting plenty of attention on the recruiting trail.

"It's colleges coming out here to see me still," he said. "People from my top 10 and more colleges that are not in my top 10 too, so recruitment's still heavy."

Cal, Washington, USC and Oregon have all come by to see him lately and it looks like a decision isn't too far off.

"I'll have it wrapped up before season for sure. I'm not sure when, but before season for sure."

Pellum is holding the family feel of a program as a major priority when it comes to what's most important to him in the process.

"Same thing they've been showing me that they're family oriented and that they don't change that up."
