Jeremiah McClellan Announces College Commitment

One of Oregon’s top wide receiver targets in the 2024 recruiting class has made his college decision.
In this story:

2024 St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He chose the Buckeyes from a top five that also included Oregon, Georgia, LSU and Missouri.

The 6-foot, 190-pound wide receiver had been the top uncommitted wide receiver target in the 2024 cycle for Oregon wide receivers coach Junior Adams. The Ducks already hold verbal commitments from wide receivers Jordan Anderson, Jack Ressler and Dillon Gresham—who are all preparing for their senior seasons in California.

It looked like Oregon had a strong chance to close with McClellan when he was scheduled to be in Eugene for the team’s Saturday Night Live camp. However, that trip fell through.

McClellan said his Ohio State official visit played a large role in his eventual decision.

Duck fans should expect the Oregon staff to continue recruiting him despite his verbal pledge.

The next major target Oregon could be in line to land is Yelm (Wash.) All-American linebacker selection Brayden Platt; who is expected to make his college decision in early September. He has set a final two of the Oregon Ducks and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Oregon’s 22 verbal commits has them ranked with the No. 12 class in the country for the 2024 cycle , according to 247 Sports.
