Karson Cox a Priority for Oregon in 2025 Recruiting Class
Oregon is still working on filling out its running back room this cycle, but the Ducks are also laying a foundation with some promising ballcarriers in the 2025 recruiting class.
Hesperia (Calif.) Oak Hills running back Karson Cox made the trip out to Eugene last month with his father to check out Oregon for the Colorado game. He took some time to update Ducks Digest on the latest in his recruitment.

"The trip was amazing," Cox said of his Oregon visit. "Seeing the facilities seeing everything, the energy right before the game, the walkthroughs the meetings. I could tell that Dan Lanning is a coach and he knows what he's talking about. He wants you to compete and do the best.
During his recruitment he's been able to build a strong connection with Oregon's running backs coach Carlos Locklyn.
"He's a great guy. We talk almost every morning, and he's just amazing and he knows how to coach the running back position. And I could definitely see that and he loves getting the running backs involved."
Oregon put up 522 yards of total offense and 240 of those came on the ground. The 6-foot, 195-pound Cox likes how he would fit in Will Stein's offense.
"The fit in Eugene is actually amazing. They pretty much run everything that we run out here at my high school. It's an RPO mixture. They know how to pound the rock, get running backs involved and running. Just everything kind of fits into what I'm doing out here right now."
With the high school season past the halfway mark, Cox has a couple of other visits in mind when he gets back on the recruiting trail.
"I just got a recent offer to Kansas, so I might make it out there when they play Kansas State," he said. "Oregon State, they keep inviting me out so I might go visit up there and as well if I'm out there I'll visit Oregon. As well as Washington."
The talented Southern California product has his priorities straight as he continues visiting schools and building relationships.
"I like a family-oriented school. Of course my family isn't gonna be there all the time next to me. I want a family where I can look up to the coaching staff as a second family. I'm comfortable with them, able to tell them anything, if I'm going through hard times. And then also have the brotherhood in the locker room with the teammates."
There's still plenty of time to go in his recruitment, but Cox has an idea when he'd like to wrap up the process.
"I'm still in the middle of the recruiting process. I'm still taking my time," Cox said. "Getting all the opportunities I can still before I make the final decision. I'm gonna be committing after my official visits over the summer. That's been the whole plan right now."
Cox concluded the interview with more praise for the Ducks and the trip he took to Eugene.
"I definitely want to go back to Oregon. It was actually an amazing experience at the game for Colorado. The crowd was amazing. There was a time where before the game they were chanting my name, telling me to commit to Oregon. It was crazy the atmosphere. And I know the fans, they definitely love the game of football out there in Oregon."
