Nation's No. 1 Offensive Tackle Jordan Seaton Reveals Top Schools
2024 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is nearing a decision.
On Friday, the nation's No. 1 offensive tackle trimmed his finalists to seven, with the Oregon Ducks making the cut.
The other six schools in the mix for the 6-foot-6, 290-pound lineman include the Tennessee Volunteers, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida Gators, Alabama Crimson Tide, Maryland Terrapins and Ohio State Buckeyes.
He's rated a five-star (0.9927) recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 16 player nationally, the No. 1 offensive tackle and the No. 4 recruit in Florida.
Seaton is originally from the Washington, D.C. area, where he played with Oregon running back commit Da'Jaun Riggs at St. John's before transferring to IMG.
The towering offensive lineman took an unofficial visit to Oregon in September to see the Ducks face Washington State.
"One other thing that I like about the Oregon Ducks is basically the player relationships with the coaches. It's one of a kind," he told Ducks Digest after the trip. "You can't find that at too many spots nowadays."
Five-Star OT Jordan Seaton Recaps Oregon Visit
Since tripping out to Eugene he's visited Colorado and is in Knoxville this weekend for an official visit to Tennessee.
Oregon has a strong offensive line haul in the 2024 class featuring players like JacQawn McRoy (AL) and Fox Crader (WA), and they'd love to add Seaton as the cherry on top.
He previously told Ducks Digest that he's looking to announce his college commitment during the early signing period next month, and with his fall visit being an unofficial, fans can likely expect him to get back out to Eugene for an official visit before it's time to make a decision.
Torres' Take
Oregon's 2024 class is ranked No. 6 in the country and already has two five-star commitments in Aydin Breland and Elijah Rushing. Adding Seaton to the fold would be a monumental win for a couple of reasons.
Let's start with the obvious, getting a player from Florida has never been easy for Oregon, but when the Ducks have pulled it off it's worked out pretty well (see Brandon Dorlus, Charles Nelson, Jordon Scott) for example. It's also fairly difficult to recruit IMG Academy, a D1 factory in the Sunshine State that SEC powers like Georgia and Alabama have built a direct pipeline to.
Furthermore, this would be a big recruiting statement for A'lique Terry as one, if not the youngest offensive line coaches in the country. I was very confident he was going to be a strong hire for Lanning and he's done nothing but deliver on and off the field.
I've been hearing good things about Oregon's chances here, and I think they only stand to improve if/when he schedules his official visit, likely bringing him back to Eugene next month.
