Nyckoles Harbor Sets Commitment Date
We're just two days away from National Signing Day and Oregon is still working tirelessly to add to their 2023 recruiting class.
Washington D.C. Archbishop Carroll ATH Ncykoles Harbor will be making his college commitment on Wednesday Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. PT, according to a report from Chad Simmons of On3.
Harbor is ranked the No. 1 athlete in the country and is the top uncommitted recruit in the 2023 class.
His recruitment has gotten increasingly interesting over the past month or so, as Oregon picked up some steam ahead of the Under Armour All-American Bowl late last month. Dan Lanning and the Ducks earned Harbor's final official visit, as he flew across the country to take in the Duck football program this past weekend.
Also one of the fastest track sprinters in the nation, the trip gave him a chance to take an up close look at both the football and track programs in Eugene. He also got to spend time with Nike Co-Founder Phil Knight as the Ducks turn up the heat down the home stretch in his recruitment.
Harbor's recruitment is largely viewed as a four team race, with Oregon accompanied by the likes of Michigan, South Carolina and Maryland.

The Ducks signed their entire 2023 recruiting class during the early signing period, a haul that's viewed as the No. 10 class in the country by 247Sports, just two spots behind the USC Trojans.
Dan Lanning's group is headlined by five-star wide receiver Jurrion Dickey and edge rusher Matayo Uiagelelei, the latter of which is already enrolled at Oregon.
Harbor starred on both sides of the ball in high school as both a wide receiver/tight end hybrid and an edge rusher, but it looks like the plan is for him to mainly play offense at the next level.
The Ducks don't have a glaring need for a player like Harbor, but you certainly aren't going to turn away a player who's been tabbed as one of the freakiest athletes in the 2023 class. Oregon is also pushing for Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra cornerback Rodrick Pleasant, who is also making his commitment on Wednesday.
Securing Harbor's commitment would certainly be a massive addition for both the Oregon Football and track programs as Dan Lanning looks to reignite the trend of football players staring as track sprinters in the offseason.
