Oregon Continues Surging for Nation's No. 1 Uncommitted Running Back
It was a big recruiting weekend for Oregon when they throttled the Colorado Buffaloes. And they did it in front of some of their biggest recruiting targets in the 2024 class.
Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea running back Jason Brown Jr. was at Autzen Stadium to take it all in as he works toward making his college commitment.
On Wednesday, Oregon received two big crystal ball predictions to land Brown from 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and National Recruiting Editor Brandon Huffman.
Both predictions were logged with 6 or "medium" confidence levels.
These picks only make me feel better about the Oregon prediction that I logged for Brown back in August.
The 5-foot-10, 205-pound back is working from a top three of Oregon, Washington and Michigan State. While he has yet to set a commitment date, it would look like one isn't too far off since he's only considering three schools.
PREDICTION: Oregon to land elite defensive back
Most people believe, and I think reasonably so, that Michigan State is out of the running with Mel Tucker being fired earlier this week. Washington shouldn't be completely discounted here because not only are they playing great football, but they're also the hometown school.
But what I can tell you is that they haven't made Brown a priority like the Ducks have and they're not doing a good job of prioritizing in-state talent under Kalen DeBoer.
This weekend's trip to Eugene was another unofficial visit for the No. 2 player in Washington, as he's only taken one official visit, which was to East Lansing.
I expect he'll get back to Eugene to take his Oregon official visit some time between now and when he makes his college commitment.
Either way, I felt great about this Oregon pick before the weekend, and I'm only feeling better about it now with others hopping on board.
