Oregon Giving 5-Star LSU WR Commit Dakorien Moore Plenty to Think About

The No. 1 ranked wide receiver in the country was in Eugene over the weekend and the Ducks aren't going away in his recruitment.

A star-studded group of elite recruits descended on Eugene this past weekend for Junior Day as Dan Lanning and the Ducks try to sign another top-tier class in the 2025 cycle.

One of the headliners that made the trip was 5-Star Duncanville (Tex.) wide receiver Dakorien Moore, a verbal commit to LSU. He spoke with Ducks Digest about the trip and the latest in his recruitment.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver has been committed Tigers since August, but the relationships he's developed with the Oregon staff have made it hard to stay away.

"They've been showing me a lot of love since the beginning actually. I really feel like it was real genuine love," Moore said of why he took the trip. "I feel like when it comes to Coach (Junior) Adams and Coach (Dan) Lanning I can really like trust him or what they're saying."

Among his highlights from the trip was spending with other recruits on campus and soaking up the football scene in Eugene.

"Just being around the players that was also being recruited down there. You got Dallas Wilson who's committed there. You had Jordon Davison from Cali. It was a lot of good recruits down there that they were also showing love to. It's unexplainable man. It was a lot that they showed us and it's really just a different place down there."

With a recruit as coveted as Moore, one may think that Oregon is pitching something unique, but it's more of the same we've been hearing about Lanning and the Ducks.

"I would just say relationships," he said. "That's really what they what they preach down there. Relationships, focus and football. It's easy to focus down there.

"There's no distractions and being that they got relationships down there it makes it real easy cause everyone's feeding everyone. Everyone's keeping everyone focused. Everyone's making sure that each other's grinding. Nobody's jealous. It's just another culture down there man."

The stability at the top of the program seems to be another part of the appeal for Moore, who spoke about his relationship with Lanning.

"Dan Lanning has expressed to me how much Oregon means to him and stuff like that since he got there. He's rebuilding a lot down there and I know he's not doing it for nothing. So I really feel like that's where he wants to be and how bad he's recruiting me I know he wants me there with him. To be along the journey so we can get that championship."

Wide receivers coach Junior Adams is as hot as any coach in the country after landing five-star Gatlin Bair and snagging former Texas A&M star Evan Stewart out of the transfer portal.

"Coach Adams, he's nonstop been showing me show me a lot of love. My family a lot of love. Welcoming us open arms, their whole staff in general just welcomed (with) open arms. But that's not too different from a couple of schools. It's just I feel like theirs is more genuine. It's nonstop the whole weekend."

The Ducks aren't going to be going anywhere in this recruitment, and Moore described the impression this weekend's visit made, comparing it to what he's experienced in Baton Rouge.

"I would say it was a hard, great impression. They're showing a ton of love. I would say it's matching LSU."

What's next on the recruiting trail for the No. 1 wide receiver?

"Honestly, I don't know. That was the only visit that I had scheduled. But we're gonna see what other visits I got coming up. And we got official visits, I think in July, so I'm gonna see what visits I want to schedule for that month."

Oregon is likely making the strongest push of any school in the country, but a few others are still in the mix.

"Ohio State offered me a minute ago. I wasn't really in too much communication with them, but he's definitely trying to get me down there too. Also Texas. They came down here before dead period hit. They've been talking tome the whole time as well, besides Oregon and LSU."

There have been some twists and turns in this recruitment and Texas' top player hinted that there's a long way to go.

"It's really been a journey since this whole thing started. LSU still is my commitment, but my commitment isn't very much closed being that signing day is December."
