Oregon continues to heat up ahead of a massive recruiting weekend.

On Wednesday, 2024 Melissa (Tex.) tight end Jackson Ford committed to the Ducks.

"I've dreamed of playing for the Ducks since I was a little kid," he penned in a note on social media. "I truly believe in what Coach Lanning is building, and I couldn't be more excited to be part of the Oregon family. Can't wait to be a Duck!"

Ford is a three-star (0.8600 per 247Sports Composite) recruit who's playing his high school football at Melissa High School in Texas. He stands at 6'6" and weighs 242 pounds.

The two-way tight end/defensive line standout is originally from Santa Clarita, California and even some time in Nashville, Tennessee before moving to Texas.

Oregon's newest commit is ranked the No. 925 player nationally, the No. 38 tight end and the No. 131 recruit in Texas.

Ford becomes the ninth verbal commitment in Dan Lanning's 2024 recruiting class and the first since defensive lineman Tionne Gray flipped from Missouri. He was on campus this past weekend and building a closer relationship with tight ends coach Drew Mehringer helped lock down his commitment.

Ford is the second tight end in Oregon's class, joining A.J. Pugliano out of North Medford (Ore.) High School.

The Ducks have the No. 14-ranked class in 2024 according to the 247Sports rankings and should be expected to rise in the rankings following a massive recruiting weekend for the spring game.
