Oregon Picks up Multiple Predictions to Land 5-Star DL Ahead of Weekend Visit

5-star Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain defensive lineman Tony Cumberland will visit Oregon this weekend for the Ducks matchup with the Colorado Buffaloes.

Oregon looks like they’re gaining some major momentum with a big-time recruit ahead of this weekend’s game against the No. 19 Colorado a Buffaloes.

On Thursday, 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and Mountain Region recruiting analyst Blair Angulo logged crystal ball predictions for the Oregon Ducks to land 2026 5-star Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain defensive lineman Tony Cumberland.

Both picks were logged with a 6 or “medium” confidence level.

Cumberland is ranked the No. 27 overall player in the 2026 class, the No. 4 defensive lineman and the No. 1 recruit in Arizona according to the 247Sports composite. He’s scheduled to visit Eugene this weekend along with other 5-star recruits like Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola cornerback Brandon Lockhart.

Does one of Oregon’s verbal commits know something we don’t?

On Thursday afternoon following the prediction, 2024 Oregon quarterback commit Luke Moga, a Phoenix native, posted a tweet that could be hinting at good news for the Ducks.

Either way, we’ll have to keep an eye out for the latest recurring developments this weekend.
