Ify Obidegwu is a top cornerback in the class of 2024 and is ready for his second trip to Eugene this year.

The Oregon Ducks signed five high school cornerbacks in the 2023 recruiting class.

But that's not stopping them from pursuing the best in the country this cycle.

2024 Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy cornerback Ify Obidegwu will return to Eugene this weekend for an unofficial visit and he gave the latest in his recruitment after taking trips to Maryland, Tennesse and Penn State dating back to the fall.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound cornerback placed Oregon in his top seven last month and the vibe in Eugene is part of why he wanted to take another trip.

"The vibe was just right. Just the people there," he told Ducks Digest. "I wanna go back out there, get that feel. The place felt amazing. My people loved it, my family enjoyed it too. The coaches wanted me to come back out so I had to. It's the right time."

The Under Armour All-American is keeping in touch with numerous coaches at Oregon throughout multiple levels of the program.

"Definitely Coach Meat. Talk to Coach Tosh, the D-Coordinator, that's my guy too," he said. "Coach Lanning, I talk to him a lot. Head coach makes sure he reaches out. Corners assistant coach Blake, talk to him too. Those are all the guys I talk to. My guys."

He highlighted many different aspects of the program but the culture Lanning is building may be what has him most excited about the Ducks.

"What stands out the most is the culture they're building," Obidegwu said. "Coach Lanning's first year--10 wins in his first year. This is only the start, only going up from here. The DBs coming out of there is standing out to me. Coach Meat is a great developer. I want to be a part of something like that."

And that's more or less the message the Ducks are sending in his recruitment.

"Have a family, play for the best basically. Take it over, do what you love to do-- everything you want to do. Everything you dreamed of we have," he said about Oregon's message to him.

Obidegwu called Oregon "A top contender for sure" in his recruitment, and he shared who he's hearing from the most.

"Tennessee, Oregon, Ohio State and Bama."

The Baltimore product is set for a busy slate of visits this spring and laid out his itinerary.

"This week I'm going to Oregon. Next week I'm going to Ohio State the 24th and 25th. After that, the 31st and the 1st (of April) I'm gonna be at Tennessee. The 16th I'm going to be at Alabama."

Seeing that he's going to be checking out many of his top schools, he's starting to wrap his head around when he'd like to make his commitment.

"That's what we're shooting for, before the season. Late July, August--around that time."

There are a number of factors driving his recruitment and he touched on what's most important to him in his decision.

"The family vibe there, relationships with the coaches. How the players move, how the coaches move. The overall culture of the team. A winning culture."

He'll travel across the country to Eugene along with his mother and sister this weekend.
