Roger Saleapaga, Four-Star Tight End, Commits to Oregon Ducks
Oregon just scored another major recruiting win in the state of Utah.
2024 Orem (Ut.) tight end Roger Salaeapaga has committed to the Oregon Ducks.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end committed to Dan Lanning and the Ducks from a top five that also included the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers, the Tennessee Volunteers and the Utah Utes. His commitment to the Ducks comes following three official visits this month to Oregon, Tennessee and Auburn.
Saleapaga is rated a four-star (0.8917) recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. The sam system ranks him the No. 440 player nationally, the No. 25 tight end and the No. 4 recruit in Utah. He attends the same school where the Ducks found Chicago Bears linebacker Noah Sewell, a five-star linebacker recruit in the 2020 class.
Saleapaga is the 25th verbal commitment in Dan Lanning's 2024 recruiting class and the second tight end, joining North Medford (Ore.) standout A.J. Pugliano. The Ducks have the No. 7 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle according to the 247Sports class calculator. Dan Lanning's class ranks No. 2 in the Big Ten, trailing only the Ohio State Buckeyes (No. 2 nationally).
Oregon is still pursuing a host of big-time recruits this cycle with the early signing period set to begin on December 20. Other players to keep an eye on for the Ducks include Fairfield (Calif.) Armijo defensive lineman Jericho Johnson, Burley (Id.) wide receiver Gatlin Bair (Boise State commit), Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Jordan Seaton and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Nate Frazier (Georgia commit), just to name a few.
