Four-star 2024 Forney (Tex.) safety Aaron Flowers has emerged as a priority target for new Oregon Ducks safeties coach Chris Hampton.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back starts his two-day visit to Eugene on Friday and previewed the trip with Ducks Digest.

"I decided to take the Oregon visit because I really have a strong interest for the program ever since they offered," Flowers said. "The defensive coordinator who got hired, he really wanted me and I was one of his first offers when he first got hired. I know I had to show interest back to them and I like the West Coast vibe too."

He'll make the trip out West with his father and is excited to see the Ducks firsthand.

"I'm looking forward to seeing how it is. New atmosphere--I've never been out west like that. So I'm gonna see if it feels comfortable for me. If the atmosphere and coaching feels like family, feels like home. How they treat me, how welcoming it all is for me."

Despite the Ducks being a more recent offer the relationships with the staff have really taken off.

"It looks really great. They're heavy hitters in my recruiting process," he said about his connections with Oregon. "They always get me on Facetime with Coach Hampton. Coach Lanning Facetimes me a lot compared to other coaches. He's a really chill guy. He talks to my dad a lot too."

Oregon is sending the Texas product a strong message in their recruitment.

"They showed that they really want me and I'm one of their top guys on the board for sure. They keep telling me that over and over again. They just want me to be a star of their class and just keep it going and keep it ranked high."

After he sees Oregon Flowers will see USC on March 21 before heading to Alabama on March 24.

He's still deciding on where he'll take his official visits but he knows he wants to take all five before making a commitment.

"Around summer time. That's where I feel comfortable with," Flowers said of a decision timeline.

The standout defensive back detailed what factors will influence his college commitment.

"The most important factor for me is where I see myself at. I want to get early starting playing time too. And then how like much of a relationship I build with them too. How comfortable I am at home with them. Education plays a big part too with it. But it's mostly about the family connection and how strongly they like me."
