THE LATEST: Oregon and 5-Star OT Michael Fasusi

One of the top offensive linemen in the country gives the latest in his recruitment and his Oregon interest.
In this story:

2025 Lewisville (Tex.) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi is one of the best players in the country for this upcoming recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-5, 306-pound tackle was scheduled to visit Oregon this weekend, but with that trip being pushed back, he spoke with Ducks Digest about the latest in his recruitment.

He addressed the change in his visit plans for this weekend and where the Ducks stand in his recruitment.

"It wasn't nothing crazy," Fasusi said of the change in visit plans. "The O-line coach, Coach (A'lique) Terry actually he texted me and was like we're probably going out towards spring ball. He wants me to see the players practice and all that. Oregon is still on the high list for sure."

There definitely appears to be strong mutual interest here between Fasusi and the Ducks, as a pair of Oregon coaches stopped by to pay him a visit at school on Tuesday.

"Coach (Dan) Lanning and Coach (Will) Stein actually came to see me today. It was really fun meeting those guys. Had a lot of great things to say."

Oregon is standing out to Fasusi for a couple of reasons, led by his relationship with A'lique Terry and Will Stein's high-scoring offense.

"Coach Terry the O-line coach, that's my dude for real. We connect on a high level. It's crazy. Being coached by someone like that. He actually trained me once this last summer. Just getting to see what type of coach---amazing coach but an even better person.

"Coach Lanning, he's fun, he's energetic. Coach Stein, I don't really know much about him, but basically what I've seen on TV, he's a mastermind, an offensive mastermind. That's about all you need right there."

The coveted Texas offensive lineman took a pair of visits the last two weeks, starting with an in-state trip to see new head coach Mike Elko at Texas A&M.

"The highlights for A&M was the coaches, the new coaching staff. I think they got something going on and I'm down for that. Coach Elko and Coach (Adam) Cushing, those are my guys. He coaches really similar to my high school coach. Coach Elko just, what he had to tell me, what he said about the program."

It sounds like the Aggies have put themselves in a great spot following that trip.

"They made a really great impression. Coach Elko and Coach Cushing, they really did the job for me. Loved getting out there for sure."

Eliah Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers also got to host Fasusi, who pointed to the brotherhood aspect as a highlight form his trip to Columbia.

"I love Mizzou," he said. "Coach (Brandon) Jones, and the players and Coach Drink, just meeting all those guys, seeing the type of relationship and brotherhood everybody has with each other. Mizzou is a fun time. Columbia is a fun time. I had an amazing time there. They rolled out the red carpet for me and just enjoyed being out there. I feel like they're gonna be great this season."

Fasusi will have just about every school in the country recruiting him, but it sounds like he could be getting a clearer picture on his top suitors and a decision timeline.

"Right now I'm looking forward to posting my top schools late February and going ahead I think August, that's when I'm looking forward to committing right now. August. Right after the OVs and all that."
