Oregon recruiting continues to load up on high-end talent in the 2024 recruiting class.

After landing Under Armour All-American quarterback Michael Van Buren, Durant (Okla.) defensive lineman Xadavien Sims has committed to Oregon. He announced his decision on the 247Sports YouTube channel.

Sims chose the Ducks from a top five that also included Michigan State, Oklahoma, TCU and Vanderbilt.

Dan Lanning's newest commit is listed at 6'3", 275 pounds. He's rated a four-star (0.9200) recruit by 247Sports. The same system ranks him the No. 121 player nationally, the No. 16 defensive lineman and the No. 1 player in Oklahoma.

He racked up 22 reported scholarships and trimmed his finalists to five following two trips to Eugene this spring. It looked like he was going to draw out his recruitment a bit more and wait until after his official visits to make his commitment, but the Oregon coaching staff did a great job prioritizing him from the moment they offered in January.

Sims is the 13th member of Oregon's 2024 recruiting class which is headlined by Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy cornerback Ify Obidegwu and Newport Beach (Calif.) Newport Harbor wide receiver Jordan Anderson

The Oklahoma native is the second defensive lineman to join the fold under Tony Tuioti, who flipped 6-foot-6, 295-pound defensive lineman Tionne Gary from the Missouri Tigers last month.

Following Sims' commitment Dan Lanning's haul in the 2024 recruiting class continues to close in on top-five territory among the national ranks--a mark the Ducks have never finished with. They did have the No. 1-ranked class in the country during the 2018 recruiting cycle, but that group would fall apart following former head coach Willie Taggart's departure to Florida State.

Sims is another big-time talent along the defensive line and the caliber of player the Ducks need in the trenches to take their defense to the next level.

Following his commitment the attention now turns to 2024 San Jacinto (Calif.) wide receiver Dillon Greshman, who has Oregon in his top three along with Arizona and Washington ahead of his decision, which is scheduled for Monday May 22 at 9 am PT.
