Philadelphia 4-Star Prospect Commits to Penn State
Kenneth Woseley, a 4-star cornerback from Philadelphia's Imhotep Charter, committed to Penn State's 2024 recruiting class Friday. Woseley announced his decision live on 247Sports.
Woseley is the fourth prospect, three of whom play defense, in the Lions' 2024 class. He also is the third commit from Pennsylvania, notably from the high-priority Philadelphia region.
"Seeing coach Terry [Smith] and coach [James] Franklin develop guys in their program and what they can do off the field for me, it just felt like the right thing to do," Woseley told 247Sports.
A 5-11, 170-pound cornerback, Woseley chose Penn State from a final list that included Michigan, Nebraska and Rutgers. He was a Class 5A all-state selection last season after helping Imhotep to the PIAA championship game.
Woseley is the No. 8 player in Pennsylvania, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and a top-35 player nationally at his position. His scholarship sheet is extensive: More than 25 schools offered Woseley, including Michigan State, Miami, Wisconsin, Oregon and Florida.
Penn State's 2022 recruiting class included Imhotep linebacker Keon Wylie, now a redshirt freshman, and Philadelphia native Abdul Carter. Smith, Penn State's associate head coach, credited the Philadelphia recruiting surge in part to Deion Barnes, a former graduate assistant who was promoted to full-time analyst.
Woseley mentioned as well that Penn State has coaches from Philadelphia on its staff.
"He's been tremendous for us in Philadelphia [recruiting]," Smith said of Barnes on Signing Day in December.
