Penn State picked up a 2025 quarterback recruit Tuesday, when 3-star prospect Bekkem Kritza announced his commitment. Kritza joined the Nittany Lions' 2025 recruiting class two days after Penn State coach James Franklin announced the firing of offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich. Kritza announced his decision on 247Sports.

Kritza, a junior at Fairview High in Boulder, Colorado, chose Penn State from a top-5 that also included Colorado and Washington. Kritza (6-5, 200 pounds) is the 34th-ranked quarterback in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports, and the overall top-ranked prospect in Colorado.

As a freshman at Fairview, Kritza threw for 3,192 yards and 22 touchdowns, leading all Colorado quarterbacks. He played for Miami Central in Florida last season, then transferred to Santa Margarita Catholic in California to begin 2023. Kritza returned to Fairview midway through this season and has thrown for 1,747 yards and 20 touchdowns in six games.

Kritza is the first quarterback to commit to Penn State's 2025 recruiting class, which could pursue another. The Lions have offered 4-star prospect Ryan Montgomery from Ohio and 3-star quarterback Malik Washington from Maryland, among others. Kritza is the sixth player to commit to Penn State's 2025 class.
