Penn State Reels in Another Offensive Line Prospect

Eagan Boyer, a 3-star tackle from North Carolina, is the 12th commit in the Lions' 2024 recruiting class.

Penn State continued its rapid-fire stretch of recruiting news Tuesday, as offensive lineman Eagan Boyer of North Carolina joined the Lions' 2024 recruiting class. Boyer announced his commitment on social media.

Boyer, a 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, became the fourth player to join Penn State's 2024 class since the Blue-White Game. He is the 12th player in the class, which now ranks fifth nationally according to 247Sports.

A 6-7, 260-pound offensive lineman, Boyer plays for William Amos Hough High near Charlotte. He received honorable mention all-state honors last season at Hough, which reached the quarterfinals of the North Carolina Class 4A playoffs. Boyer previously played at North Carolina's Pine Lake Prep.

Boyer, who visited Penn State in early April, chose the Lions from an impressive offer list that includes Florida. Clemson, Michigan, Michigan State, Auburn and Wisconsin, among others. Boyer ranks among the top 50 tackles nationally, according to 247Sports, and represents offensive line coach Phil Trautwein's continued success rate this recruiting cycle.

Trautwein has helped Penn State win commitments from four offensive linemen in the 2024 class, including 4-star prospects Donovan Harbour, Cooper Cousins and Garrett Sexton.
