As Penn State Nears Attendance Record, $3 Tickets Available for Rutgers Game
Penn State could set a Beaver Stadium record for football attendance Saturday with another big crowd against Rutgers. And fans who want to be part of history will find plenty of affordable tickets available — some for as low as $3.
Resale sites such as StubHub, SeatGeek and VividSeats are showing scores of Penn State football tickets for under $10 for Saturday's home finale against the Scarlet Knights. At SeatGeek, the lowest ticket price was $3 on Thursday. They're as low as $4 on StubHub and start at $5 on VividSeats. And at TicketMaster, Penn State's verified resale partner, tickets start at $8.
Penn State has announced huge crowds for its previous six home games this season, and one more could set the program's all-time record for average per-game attendance. Penn State is averaging announced crowds of 108,958 per game this season, ahead of the 2007 record of 108,917. To eclipse that mark, Penn State must announce a crowd of at least 108,670 fans for Saturday's game against Rutgers.
Penn State recorded its best single-season attendance total, for seven home games, in 2007: 762,419 fans attended games at Beaver Stadium that season. Through six home games this year, the Nittany Lions have announced a total home attendance of 653,750. Penn State's announced attendance figures represent tickets sold.
Penn State this season has recorded three of the top-10 largest crowds in Beaver Stadium history. This also is the first season in which Penn State has announced three games with attendance above 110,000:
- 110,889: Ohio State 27, Penn State 26 (2018)

Under head coach James Franklin, Penn State has recorded the four largest crowds in Beaver Stadium history and six of the top seven. The 2001 Beaver Stadium expansion raised Beaver Stadium's capacity to 107,282. In 2011, capacity was lowered to its current 106,572 to meet the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Penn State ranks second nationally in attendance this season to Michigan. The Wolverines, who host Ohio State in their regular-season finale Nov. 25, average 109,864 fans per game. Michigan Stadium, with a capacity of 107,601, is the nation's largest stadium. Penn State's Beaver Stadium is No. 2.
The Penn State-Rutgers game, during which Penn State will celebrate Senior Day, kicks off at noon ET Saturday at Beaver Stadium. FS1 will televise.
