PITTSBURGH -- Ashton Gibbs is one of the best Pitt Panthers guards of all time. He was a major contributor during the very peak of that program's power in the late 2000's and early 2010's. Now he is moving up the coaching ranks in his post-playing days. Gibbs announced on his Instagram that he had accepted an assisstant coaching job with the Atlanta Hawk's G-League affiliate.

"Excited to announce I will be joining the Atlanta Hawks Organization as an Assistant coach on the College Park Skyhawks," Gibbs wrote. "Let's work!"

Gibbs averaged 15.7 points per game over more than 36 minutes per game. He earned multiple All-Big East Honors and helped pilot the Panthers to multiple top-25 finishes and an Elite Eight berth.
