PITTSBURGH -- National recruiting service The Portal Report released their top ten transfers entering the ACC this season and Pittsburgh Panthers pick up Nelly Cummings made the list. As the sixth-best ACC transfer on their list, Cummings is expected to carry a heavy load as the Panthers' primary ball-handler.

Cummings, a western Pennsylvania native, began his career at Bowling Green where he saw limited playing time as a freshman. He sat out the 2018-19 season and transferred to Colgate, where he became an instant impact player. He started 78 of 79 possible games and scored with ease.

This past season was his best and most productive to date. For a 23-win Colgate team that won a Patriot League title and played Wisconsin to a 67-60, nail-biting loss in the NCAA Tournament this year, Cummings scored nearly 15 points and recorded three assists per game. He put up 20 points, six rebounds and six assists against the Badgers in their opening round loss of the national tournament.

He is expected to start for the Panthers this season, who have been bolstered by the return of last year's second-leading scorer Jamarius Burton and career 1500-point scorer Nike Sibande, who missed all of 2021-22 with a knee injury.
