PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will have at least one member of their stellar freshman backcourt back for another season in blue and gold.

The Panthers' season is not over yet, even after a 72-65 loss to No. 4 North Carolina in the ACC Tournament semifinals, but freshman guard Bub Carrington confirmed that he is planning on returning for his sophomore season at Pitt.

He had been listed in numerous NBA mock drafts during this season and garnered attention as a pro prospect, but he will not be leaving for the professional ranks or another school, he said.

"We're coming back stronger, better," Carrington said following the loss to North Carolina. "I feel like we can definitely make some real noise next year."

Carrington averaged 13.5 points per game on 41.2% shooting from the field and 4.2 assists to just 1.9 turnovers while starting all of Pitt's 33 games this season. He led the Panthers with 24 points on 9-17 shooting from the field and 4-8 shooting from 3-point range in the loss to North Carolina.
