PITTSBURGH -- A surprising name will be moving on from his time with the Pitt Panthers at the conclusion of this season.

According to a report from George Michalowski of Pittsburgh Sports Now, Pitt seniors Blake Hinson and K.J. Marshall will be joined by redshirt junior William Jeffress during Senior Day festivities before the Panthers take on N.C. State in the regular season finale at the Petersen Events Center.

Pitt head coach Jeff Capel said earlier this season that Jeffress, who reclassified to join the Panthers during the summer of 2020, had already graduated from Pitt but was waiting to walk. He has eligibility remaining and whether he chooses to transfer and pursue a graduate degree or leave school remains to be seen.

Jeffress, at one point the highest-rated recruit Jeff Capel has landed at Pitt, has been primarily used as a defensive and rebounding specialist. He's averaged 1.6 points and two rebounds per game while shooting 36% from the field and 25% from 3-point range.

Jeffress' time with the Panthers is far from over. He still has one more regular season game, an ACC Tournament run and another postseason tournament - either the NIT or NCAA Tournament - left.
