Elite G Transfer Now Available for Pitt

If the Pitt Panthers are looking for a Bub Carrington replacement, Duke Miles could be it.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have a void at guard after star freshman Bub Carrington announced that he would forgo his remaining college eligibility and declare for the 2023 NBA Draft. Ever since, the coaching staff has been hitting the transfer portal hard to look for replacements.

A new name pooped up in the transfer portal over the weekend that the Panthers could consider taking a look at and it's former High Point star Duke Miles, the 2023-24 Big South Newcomer of the Year, submitted his paperwork to enter the portal over the weekend and Pitt should be one of the many high-majors that will reach out to try and land his commitment.

Miles was an electric scorer as the lead guard for the 27-9 Panthers last season, averaging 17.5 points and 3.6 assists in 30.6 minutes per game over 33 appearances, 27 of which were starts. Each of those statistical markers was a career-high for Miles this season. He was remarkably efficient (61.2% true shooting) on more than a 25% usage rate. He can pass well, but was playing primarily as a scoring guard High Point last season.

At 6'3 and 183 pounds, Miles has the size to play at the high major level. His last game against a Power 5 team came in December of 2023, when he scored 15 points on 5-17 shooting and a 1-8 mark from 3-point range in a 66-58 loss to Georgia.

The Panthers need a guard and need scoring ability and Miles would deliver just that if he ends up in Pittsburgh.
