Pat Narduzzi Addresses Contract Extension With Pitt
PITTSBURGH -- Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi signed a contract extension, keeping him with the Panthers through 2030. But the ACC Champion coach said it takes someone who fully understands how "special" this program - and opportunity - is to embrace it.
"It's a destination job, it is," Narduzzi said. "But it's only a destination job for someone who's from this area, that loves this area, that has a passion about Pittsburgh."
Narduzzi said the contract was done for roughly two months before it was announced. The final touches were adding raises for the assistant coaches, which Narduzzi said is the first significant raise since he's been here.
"That's important to me because you're coaching these players everyday, but you're also coaching these coaches. To have to retrain people in different spots is tough. I'm happy for our staff. Every time you get an extension like that, it's everybody in here."
Overall, Narduzzi expressed his appreciate for the program and the extension - and what's ahead.
"This is a great job," Narduzzi said. "I love Pitt and I love these kids. ... The thing I think about right now is let's win another championship. Lets do it again."
