PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have named their captains for the 2022 season. The blue and gold will be led by Deslin Alexandre, SirVocea Dennis, Kedon Slovis and Carter Warren this season.

This is Alexandre's second season at the team's captain. For Slovis, he was named the starting quarterback over Nick Patti and is set to lead the Panthers into the season opener against West Virginia.

Dennis spoke during training camp about how he's leading by example and showing the players around him that football is fun, but business at the same time.

"Football is a fun game," Dennis said. "I've played it since I was four or five years old. So I try to have fun on the field in between those white lines but the mindset definitely changes. When I'm around the guys, it's all fun and games but when I'm between those white lines, we have a purpose and it's to win."

For Warren, he's entering his sixth season with the Panthers. Starting 36 career games for Pitt, the offensive tackle is set to be the driving force for the offensive line.
