PITTSBURGH -- Following a convincing win on the road against Western Michigan last night, the Pitt Panthers remained in the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll but fell out of the Coaches Poll.

The Panthers, previously ranked at No. 25, were the only team to be dropped from the Coaches Poll but received the most votes of anyone outside the top-25. Pitt remained in the AP Poll for the eighth straight week, checking in at No. 24.

The Panthers fell from No. 17 to No. 23 in last week's AP Top-25 after suffering a draining defeat in overtime to the Tennessee Volunteers, who have risen to No. 11 in the AP and No. 12 in the Coaches Poll after dominating Akron last night.

Four ACC teams remain in the Coaches Poll with No. 5 Clemson leading the way and No. 11 NC State, No. 16 Wake Forest and No. 25 Miami. There was a similar order in the AP Poll, with the Tigers leading the way at No. 5 and No. 12 NC State, No. 21 Wake Forest, No. 24 Pitt and No. 25 Miami following.
