In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers continued to become even thinner at defensive tackle in the second half against North Carolina. Already down star rusher Calijah Kancey, who was ejected in the first half because of a targeting penalty, Pitt also lost co-starter David Green.

Green went down with a lower-body injury in the third quarter. He was looked at by Pitt's trainers for a while before walking off the field under his own power. He was favoring his left leg as he strolled off the field.

Devin Danielson and Tyler Bently will likely take over the bulk of the snaps in his absence. The Panthers also brought Deandre Jules and Elliot Donald along on the trip, two talented players that don't have much game experience. True freshman Sean FitzSimmons is another candidate to fill in at that position.

UPDATE: Green returned to the game on the same drive.
