Pitt WR Jared Wayne Declares for NFL Draft
PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers wide receiver Jared Wayne has finished his college career, announcing he has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.
Wayne will become the second captain to leave Pitt for the draft this offseason, joining SirVocea Dennis. The star wideout finished his career with 146 receptions for 2,307 yards and 13 touchdowns.
"The past 4 years have been nothing short of a blessing," Wayne wrote on social media. "I will cherish the relationships, memories and experiences I've created forever."
Wayne shared his appreciation for both his position coach, Tyquan Underwood and head coach Pat Narduzzi in the post as well.
"Coach Underwood, thank you for your knowledge and guidance and helping me grow as a player and man," Wayne said. "Coach Narduzzi, thank you for believing in me and providing me with the opportunity to play for an amazing university."
Wayne enters the draft process as a 6-foot-3 wideout who has proven to be Pitt's most reliable pass-catcher the last year or so.
