PITTSBURGH -- A second Pitt Panther has been taken in the 2023 NFL Draft after the New York Jets selected offensive tackle Carter Warren with the 120th overall pick in the fourth round. Two rounds passed in between Calijah Kancey going 19th overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Warren being taken by the Jets.

Warren has been a mainstay in the Pitt offensive line since 2019. He started 38 of his final 39 games at left tackle before a torn meniscus kept him sidelined for the final nine contests of 2022.

He was considered a prime draft candidate following his impressive 2021 campaign, but returned to school to better his draft stock. He was named a captain prior to the start of his fifth and final season in college football.
