Former Pitt WR Returns from Injury

The former Pitt Panthers receiver is back from going through the concussion protocol.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers receiver Jordan Addison suffered the first injury of his NFL career last week, when he went down with a concussion.

But what was expected to be just a minor setback kept the former Pitt and USC superstar out for less than a week. Addison returned to the field and was practicing just six days after entering the concussion protocol.

Addison was a show-stopping talent during his tenure with the Panthers, amassing nearly 1,600 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns to earn 2021 Biletnikoff Award honors. He transferred to USC the following season and caught 59 passes for 875 yards and eight touchdowns while battling an injury in his final collegiate season.

The Vikings selected Addison with the 23rd overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, making him the third former Pitt player to have been picked in the first round in the past two years.

He was impressive in his first preseason action and practices. Addison hauled in one pass for 22 yards and nearly completed a spectacular sideline catch later, but it ended in a questionable incompletion call, in the preseason opener against Seattle. He did not play in the Vikings' Week 2 matchup against Tennessee.
