New Pitt OC Visiting Ole Miss Transfer

The Pitt Panthers' new offensive coordinator is visiting a transfer offensive lineman.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are ramping up their efforts to land a former Ole Miss offensive lineman who is looking for a new school.

Represented by newly-minted offensive coordinator, Kade Bell, the Panthers will pay a visit to former Rebels tackle Cedric Melton at his home in Houston, Texas, according to a report from George Michaelowski of The Portal Report.

Baylor, Indiana, and Syracuse are also interested in landing Melton, a 6'5 and 300-pound redshirt junior who appeared in 16 games both as a left guard and special teams. He started three games at left guard in 2021.

Bell was hired just a few days ago but is already hot on the recruiting trail. Prior to the official announcement of Bell's hire, the Panthers extended an offer to the Catamounts' leading receiver from this past season, C.J. Lee and they are reportedly hosting the leading rusher, Desmond Reid this week.
