PITTSBURGH -- Kedon Slovis took a nasty sack on the final offensive snap of the first half for the Pitt Panthers and it appears to have ended his afternoon early. He is not expected to return after suffering an undisclosed injury.

Slovis was not spotted on the sidelines as the Panthers opened the second half vs. the Tennessee Volunteers. Nick Patti was under center for Pitt, who got the ball to start the third quarter.

Patti battled for the starting job with Slovis throughout the spring and fall training camp before ultimately losing the competition.

Redshirt freshman Nate Yarnell is now the backup.
