PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers made some changes to their starting lineups ahead of the kickoff of the 2023 ACC opener against No. 17 North Carolina, some injury-induced and some not.

On defense, the Panthers added defensive tackle Deandre Jules and defensive end Bam Brima to the defensive line. Linebacker Kyle Louis steps in for his first career start in place of the injured Bangally Kamara. Donovan McMillon will also make the second start of his Pitt career at safety alongside Javon McIntyre.

Along the offensive line, the announced starting lineup confirmed a report from Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that starting left tackle Matt Goncalves and center Jake Kradel would not play. Terrance Moore takes Kradel's spot, Branson Taylor moves over to left tackle and Ryan Baer will make the first start of his career at right tackle.

Rodney Hammond and C'Bo Flemmister were announced as co-starters at running back. The same goes for Karter Johnson and Gavin Bartholomew at tight end.

Phil Jurkovec remained the starting quarterback and was booed loudly by home fans as he was introduced over the public address system.
