PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers won handily over an FCS opponent at home during Week 3, beating Rhode Island 45-21 behind four touchdowns from running back Israel Abanikanda. They won while seven ranked teams didn't and that helped them move up the polls.

The Panthers returned to the Coaches Poll top 25 at No. 24 after voters dropped them in Week 3. They held steady in the AP top 25 at No. 24

Pitt enters ACC play with a 3-1 record, the lone loss coming in overtime against a Tennessee team that as since climbed to No. 9 in the Coaches Poll.

Five ACC teams are ranked for the fourth consecutive week. Following an overtime win over Wake Forest, Clemson holds on to their spot at No. 5 in the Coaches poll, followed by No. 10 NC State, No. 21 Wake Forest, Pitt and No. 25 Syracuse, who replaced Miami.

Those teams hold a similar order in the AP poll with Clemson, NC State, Wake Forest and Pitt in the same spots. Florida State was the fifth team at No. 23 instead of Syracuse.
