PITTSBURGH -- The Maine Celtics of the NBA G-League closed their 2023-24 regular season on a high note, knocking off the Texas Legends to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs and to get there, they needed a scoring lift from a former Pitt Panthers guard.

Wilson Frame, a star shooter for some of Jeff Capel's earliest teams at Pitt, scored 11 points on 3-5 shooting from 3-point range and dealy out three assists to just one turnovers in a 110-109 victory that locked up the No. 2 seed in the conference for the G-League affiliate of the NBA franchise in Boston heading into the postseason.

After a successful senior season at Pitt in which he averaged 12.7 points and five rebounds per game while shooting 36% from 3-point distance, he played internationally in Belgium and Mexico. He signed a pro contract with the Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League this spring.

Wilson-Frame played his last full season with the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA's G-League, averaging 17.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists in more than 36 minutes per game over 31 games during the 2021-22 season. He's since bounced around the league, playing stints with the Iowa Wolves, Greensboro Swarm, Weschester Knicks and now Maine, seeing limited action for those squads.

Wilson-Frame will turn 28 years old this summer but at 6'5 with his kind of shooting touch, there could be a spot on an NBA roster available for him as he chases a dream of playing at the highest level of professional basketball.
