PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers forward John Hugley has re-entered the transfer portal after spending one season at Oklahoma, according to a report from Joe Tipton of On3.

Hugley, a former four-star recruit who committed to Pitt during some of its leaner years, averaged 8.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the field and 39% from 3-point range during his lone season with the Sooners. Now he'll seek the third stop of his college career.

Hugley took a step back in his junior year after suffering a knee injury during the preseason. He averaged just eight points and 3.8 rebounds per game over just eight games this season, one year after averaging 14.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 47.1% shooting from the field. He was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention for his efforts at the end of the 2021-22 season.

Hugley left Pitt following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season after struggling to crack the rotation when returning from his injury. Head coach Jeff Capel and the rest of the team were nothing but supportive of his decision throughout the process.
