Former Pitt DT Meets With Texans
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers defensive tackle Tyler Bentley's interactions with NFL teams had been limited since he declared for the 2024 NFL Draft but that changed following his Pro Day workout at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
Bentley, who was a major part of Pitt's defensive line rotation last season, told reporters that he had a brief meeting with a scout from the Houston Texans after wrapping up his final workout as a Panther.
He played in 48 games over his five-year career at Pitt, including 36 games over the past three seasons. Bentley started four of the final five games of the regular season in 2023. He ended his career with 78 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks over his career.
The Texans have taking a liking to Pitt players as of late. They drafted safety Brandon Hill in 2023, added wide receiver Jared Wayne in free agency and signed center Jimmy Morrisey later in the offseason. Bentley could be next in line to join his former teammates in the Lone Star State.
