PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are longshots to go from three wins to national champions, according to Circa Casino sportsbook in Las Vegas, Nevada.

They've released early 2024 national championship odds and the Panthers are tied for the 30th-best odds to win the College Football Playoff this season with Michigan State, North Carolina, Mississippi State, Florida and TCU at +50,000. They have the sixth best odds of any ACC team, behind Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Louisville and Virginia Tech.

Pitt underwent some massive offseason changes over the past couple of months. They turned over their entire offensive coaching staff, letting go of some program mainstays and installing a new offensive system under new offensive coordinator Kade Bell. They also needed to replace standout defensive line coach Charlie Partridge, who took a job with the Indianapolis Colts earlier this year.

The Panthers return more than a few starters from last year's team but after a sour 3-9 campaign, they're eager to wash that bitter taste out of their mouths.
