PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers transfer target guard Jamie Kaiser Jr. chose to commit to Butler over a number of other suitors.

Kaiser spent one season at Maryland, playing in 33 games, starting five and averaging 19.5 minutes per game. He also averaged 4.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, respectively, while shooting 26.9% from the field, 26.5% from 3-point range and 77.8% from the free throw line.

He came out of high school earning plaudits such as a top-100 player overall, top-20 shooting guard and top-10 player in Florida from each of the four major recruiting services coming out of high school in the class of 2023. Virginia, Indiana, Wisconsin, Oregon, Ohio State, UCLA, Wake Forest, Georgetown, Miami, TCU, Georgia Tech, Creighton and many more extended scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-6 forward heard from a number of schools after entering the transfer portal, including ACC schools like Boston College and Virginia Tech, SEC schools in Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, as well as DePaul, Oregon State, and West Virginia.

He set up an official vist with ACC foe Virginia Tech, but ended up choosing to commit to Butler, where he will have three years left of eligibility.

Pitt landed their first transfer target in Florida State forward Cameron Corhen, who will play a large role in the team heading into next season. His addition should serve as the first of many this offseason that head coach Jeff Capel and the rest of his staff will bring into the program.
