Pitt Contacts Michigan Transfer F
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers continue to search for some reinforcements to their frontcourt this offseason and that has led them to a veteran forward leaving Michigan following a coaching change.
Pitt's latest recruiting efforts were focused on former Wolverines forward Terrance Williams II, according to a report from college basketball recruiting insider Sam Kayser. The Panthers - alongside Butler, Vanderbilt, St. John’s, Louisville, USC, UCLA, VCU, Notre Dame, UCF and Xavier - have reached out to Williams to try and land his commitment out of the transfer portal.
Williams is exiting Michigan after the dismissal of head coach Juwan Howard. Former FAU head coach Dusty May has been hired to replace him and Williams is still considering a return to Michigan but exploring other options as well.
He averaged a career-high 12.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in his second year as a full time starter. Williams also so hot 39.7% from 3 and 46% from 2-point range last year.
The Panthers have four open scholarships to use right now, with Bub Carrington, Blake Hinson, KJ Marshall, Federiko Federiko and William Jeffress departing while two true freshman prepare to arrive.
