Pitt Contacts San Francisco Transfer
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have re-started their relationship with a transfer portal target from last season as he looks to move on to a new school for the second straight offseason.
To help fill a gap at guard, Pitt reached out to San Francisco transfer Mike Sharavjamts, a native of Mongolia who started his career at Dayton. Cal, UCLA, BYU, Loyola Marymount, UC Santa Barbra and Xavier have all contacted Sharavjamts, his agent said through a report from ESPN's Jeff Borzello, alongside the Panthers, who were interested in landing his commitment when he transfered last season.
The 6'8 and 180-pound rising sophomore who played his high school ball in Ohio, held offers from Eastern Washington in addition to the Flyers coming out of high school. He was a unanimous four-star recruit rated as high as the No. 1 player in Ohio and No. 46 prospect in the class. Both ESPN and Rivals ranked Sharavjamts inside the top 100 of their 2024 prospect rankings.
Sharavjamts appeared in 32 games for the Flyers during his freshman season, averaging 5.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 turnovers per game while making 38.8% of his field goals and 31.5% of his 3-pointers over 23.1 minutes per contest.
After transferring to San Fracisco, he averaged 7.7 points, 3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, while shooting 42% from the field and 36% from 3 over 34 appearances, all of which were starts.
The Panthers have four open scholarships to use this offseason after five members of the 2023-24 squad left to graduation, the transfer portal or the NBA Draft.
